IPTV buffering and freezing: nine fixes
Buffering means the TV is receiving data more slowly than it plays it. The cause is often simple. Work through these checks in order.
1. Close the app completely and open it again
Do not just press Home. Close the app fully and reopen it. This clears a stuck connection and solves a large share of cases.
2. Test your speed on the TV
Run a speed test on a phone next to the TV. Below 30 Mbps in a shared home is a likely cause.
3. Restart the router
Unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait two minutes. Routers that run for months slow down.
4. Move closer or use a cable
Wi-Fi weakens through walls and floors. A network cable to the TV or box is the most reliable fix. A Wi-Fi extender placed halfway also helps.
5. Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi
If your router offers 5 GHz, connect the TV to it. It is faster at short range than 2.4 GHz.
6. Pause other heavy use
Large downloads, game updates and several video calls can use the whole connection in the evening.
7. Restart the device
Switch the TV, stick or box off, wait 30 seconds, then start it again.
8. Free up memory and storage
Devices with 1 GB of memory or very little free storage struggle with large lists. Remove apps you do not use. A device with 4 to 5 GB of memory handles big lists comfortably.
9. Message us
If one channel or title buffers while others are fine, tell us the name and your device. We check it from our side and tell you the next step.
FAQ
Why does it buffer only in the evening?
Many homes in your area are online at the same time, and your own household uses more devices. Test in the evening to see the real picture.
Is buffering always my internet?
No. It can be Wi-Fi, an old device or a single channel. That is why we test each case.
