TV says "no internet" but Wi-Fi works on other devices
This looks like a router problem, but if your phone works on the same Wi-Fi, the fault is usually on the TV side.
1. Restart both ends
Switch the TV off at the wall for a minute, and restart the router. Wait two minutes before testing.
2. Forget the network and join again
In the TV network settings choose your Wi-Fi name, select Forget, then connect again and retype the password carefully.
3. Check the date and time
A wrong date stops secure connections. Set the TV to automatic date and time.
4. Try another DNS
In the network settings you can set DNS manually. Common public choices are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Google, or 1.1.1.1 for Cloudflare. Save and reconnect.
5. Check the band
Some older TVs cannot see a 5 GHz network. Try the 2.4 GHz network name if your router has separate names.
6. Try a cable
If the TV has a network port, a cable removes Wi-Fi from the problem completely.
7. Update the TV
Old TV software can fail to connect to current routers. Update it when the TV is online by cable or a phone hotspot.
If it still fails
Test the TV on your phone's hotspot. If it works there, the router is the cause; if not, the TV network card is.
FAQ
Will changing DNS affect my subscription?
No. It only changes how the TV finds websites.
My router shows the TV as connected. Why no internet?
The TV can be connected to the router but blocked from reaching the internet by its date, DNS or old software.
